A Little Progress on Santas

I've been absent from blogland for awhile; our house has been the infirmary lately. All four of us have been sick at least once in the last six weeks. I managed to put a few stitches into each of my two Santas.
Where I was last month:
Where I am now:
A little bit more green on the coat
Finished the pant legs
Thanks for reading and looking.
Happy stitching :-)

September Prairie Schooler Update

September 30, 2015
I guess it's time to update my Prairie Schooler I've been working on.  I have made quite a bit of progress on it since last month.  I've been trying to work at least an hour a day on it but more often than not I'm still spending way too much time on the ipad.  I have deleted most of the games on it and have been trying to limit the amount of time I've been playing the few that are left.  Also I've been spending a lot of time stitching my daughter's wedding sampler.  I've made really good progress on it and I can actually see myself finishing it by the time the wedding rolls around next year.  So I guess I'm okay with the way this one looks right now.  It is a fun piece and is working up rather quickly.

not going to make it

I just am not going to make September's deadline.  I have started a new PS Santa but all I have done is his boot so far (and only one boot).  I'll get a photo of the progress in a day or so.  I know that I will have two nights of tv watching to stitch thru.  Meanwhile I thought I would share some of the PS nutcrackers I did earlier in the year that I plan on making into ornaments.

Actually the big Santa in the middle photo is one of the early PS Santa series.
Sorry the photos are so great.

Rita's small finish

I just put in the last few stitches on this one from Book 198 Christmas Tree Farm.  I hope to make it into an ornament.

A small finish and a new start

Happy Autumn, everyone (well, at least to those of you in the Northern Hemisphere)! Things have turned a bit cooler here, but, what a gorgeous September we've had. In keeping with the season, I have a couple of fall-themed pieces to share with you today.

The first is simply called "Autumn" and is from an old Just Cross Stitch magazine. I stitched it over one on 28 ct. black Monaco using the suggested DMC threads.

To finish it off, I simply "framed" it with some rust colored ric-rak and used the acorn strewn fabric as the backing.

My second PS piece is a larger sampler from the Band Samplers book (no. 42). I just loved the saying on it "Tall trees from little acorns grow." I hope to have it completed soon, but here is a peak at my progress so far.  If you would like any more information on these, I just posted about them on my blog, Stitching Dreams, this morning.

Wishing you each a pleasant day--hope it includes some stitching time!

Carmie's update post..... UPDATED!

Hi everyone, Carmie has asked me to post a progress pic on her behalf as she is in the process of entering the exciting new world of owning a tablet and hopes to be able to post pics herself soon.

It is a PS Santa, not sure which year - 2006.

Great finish, Carmie.

hugs, Kaye

Summer start....

.... for an exchange (shhh!) I have started on this Summer piece from Book #138 "Measure of a year".

I am just stitching the block with the word "Summer" and the block next to it with the beehive.  Not sure how I am going to finish it yet but I am surely open to suggestion.

Have a great week, everyone.

hugs,

Queen Bee

Hi all.

I'm in the midst of stitching gifts right now and this one will be a gift. It's from the unnamed card

On 32ct black linen. Hard to stitch on black but after awhile I got the hang of it. I will be making a few more of these since it didn't take me long.

A Prairie Garden started

Hello friends,

last week I wanted to start something, so I pulled out A Prairie Garden that I kitted up quite a while ago and that I wanted to be my first project for this SAL. As always I started in the center and stitched the first two blocks to the left.

Let me tell you, it was a lot of fun to stitch these flowers. Does anyone know what flower the pink one on the right hand side is?

I know that I will get back to this project very soon.

Small fall ornament

I made this for a Fall/Halloween ornament exchange in one of my groups.  I'm "finishing challenged" but I'm calling this finish "prim".  ;-)  The design is from the "October" leaflet.

A Little Bit of Progress

September 1, 2015
It doesn't look like much but this is the progress I've made so far on my Prairie Schooler design.  I only had about an hour or so last Saturday to work on it so this was all I was able to get done.  I figure if I can work on it for an hour a day, I might be able to make good progress on it.  I did find there was an advantage to stitching these as individual designs.  I am able to choose the design I most want to work on and stitch that one before any of the others.  This is the Autumn chart.  I figured it would be appropriate to stitch it since fall is fast approaching.  I'm looking forward to seeing everyone else's progress.
